Marche la distance!

A busy week for Toronto Power Walkers. We started the week with training with Lee Scott. Everyone learns in a class with Lee. Her enthusiasm for power walking is contagious.

Saturday TPW’ers were busy with the second annual garage sale to benefit a local non profit.  $1,150 was raised for The Children’s Book Bank in Regent’s Park. Ann-Louise reported “We have helped get free, gently-used books into the hands of children in several high-risk neighbourhoods”.

A large group met at 8am Sunday morning to walk in Mt Pleasant. It was a beautiful morning

It was wonderful to train with the group on Sunday as most of my training this year has been on my own. 13k flew by Sunday morning as we walked the distance.  The 24k I walked Friday on my own was a different training experience. Both training walks will get me to the finish line at my next race.

I skipped breakfast with the group, as I was having lunch with group of women I met in 2005 when I joined Jeans Marines.  I am so fortunate to have begun power walking over 8 years ago, thousands of kilometre’s walked, many lasting friendships made.

A large group is off to Montreal next week Rock ‘n Roll ‘Marathon’.

Bonne Chance et Marche la Distance!!!
