Last Saturday, we met in two groups – one at Sunnybrook Park to check out the half marathon course for the Toronto Women’s Half; the other group at High Park doing a variety of routes and lengths. Helen braved the elements and was the first of our group in shorts (brrrr!).
Many of us sported our new TPW hats. Thanks again to Laurel and Barb for their hard work and to our sponsor, Harbord House for its support.
Last Tuesday, Carol and Laurel distributed hats at the Firkin Pub before interval training. They will do so again tonight, so if you’ve signed a waiver and paid your fee, come out early and pick up your free hat.
A few of you have been asking when shirts will be available. Laurel and Barb will be taking orders soon, but an initial order of 12 was placed in various sizes so you’ll be able to check them out first. Laurel will send an email via the Google Group – so if you haven’t already signed up, please do so soon so that you don’t miss out.
The training schedules for Tuesday intervals and the Thursday walk are posted on the sidebar. This Saturday we are back at High Park.
Best wishes for the MORE Half in the Big Apple to Maggie, Shirley, Rosemarie, Rosemary, Diane, Lee, May and Katherine. Don’t get too tired out from shopping on Saturday! As always we look forward to seeing David’s photos.
Last but not least, our congratulations to our former leader, Jean Marmoreo who ran the 113th Boston Marathon and placed first in her age category (66-70) with a time of 3:45:39. To paraphrase Bob: WOW!
