It was a busy week for TPW

Monday  was the first of three sessions with Lee Scott.  You always learn something valuable in any session with Lee. I am sure I will learn a new stretch or drill from the others taking the class

Given training for the Montreal half started this weekend you may want to think about your training goals….is it to finish a half under 3 hours or 3 and a half?  Is it to do a 10K or half marathon, or marathon?  

Phyllis explained the concept of using pace as a component of our training. Many of us walk the distance and have some awareness of the pace, however focusing on pace during the long distances will help us achieve a new personal best (PB) or get closer to an old one. The pace sheet can be found on the right hand side of the blog under training

There were 17 of us out on Saturday,  most doing the 12K distance of the Montreal training plan. I think most felt good about beginning their training for the race.

Susan B and I did 5K as we are in recovery mode after doing the Ottawa full marathon in late May. 
Its very nice to do a short distance after such long training distances however you do miss out on breakfast with the group.

There are now seven of us ‘doing Disney’ in January: Phyllis, Susan B, Mary, Sherry, Shirley and myself are doing the marathon, and Ann Louise is doing the half marathon. There are still spots in the Marathon and the Goofy (half marathon plus full marathon). It is a lot of fun and there is a chance it will be sunny and warm.  AND  you don’t have to get up at 2am to do it .(ask Sherry about the Maui marathon last winter)
