(some of our over 20 TPW’ers who walked on Sunday)
And, because after all it was only 10K, many of us walked to the restaurant for breakfast adding another 4.5K. What were we thinking? I was famished by the time we arrived and Marcy has vowed never to leave a race in Helen’s company again. We squeezed 16 of us into a space reserved for 10 and inhaled our food the moment it arrived.
A few committed souls (Helen, Marcy, Susan E.) did High Park on Saturday, enjoying the cherry blossoms and the hills, while Phyllis, Lorna and Rorie walked the 21K route at Sunnybrook. What a dedicated group we are.
On Tuesday we had an excellent turn-out for a refresher course on form from coach Barb Gormley. If you did not get out for it, remember you get another chance next week on May 12. It was great to welcome back ex-JeansMarines walker Beth F. Remember it is never too late to start walking that distance.
Reminders:
We do NOT have 8 participants required to run the clinic at this point. Its a great opportunity to improve technique and learn something new, enabling us to be walking the distance with excellent technique, less risk of injury and training /race strategies !!!
Don’t forget to mark June 2 as a special date in your calendars. We will forgo intervals that Tuesday (I know, I know, it will be a sacrifice) and meet at Harbord House for dinner and socializing.
