It felt good to be back at High Park again…easing into the spring schedule slowly with an 8am start. We had a terrific turnout (18), too many to list individually, especially considering the daunting distance (21k+) scheduled for the day, and the forecasted rain and cold temperatures. We were pleasantly surprised that the rain held off until the last two walkers came in.
It was great walking and talking, catching up with everyone – talking about Cleveland – travel and training plans, the Toronto Women’s Half in late May and of course Sporting Life 10k in early May. There were many fall races being considered – Scotia and Kitchener- Waterloo Walking Half, Toronto International and Hamilton Marathons, and for some crazy folks, Disney in early January. It’ll be a busy ‘season’ – hard to know when it ends and the new year begins. Whatever plans you have, training, racing or walking, it doesn’t matter…just get out and ‘walk the distance’, and have fun!
Good luck to Mary W. heading out to Big Sur soon for a 21 miler. I understand that she’s been training diligently on the High Park hills and with WOW this winter. We can’t wait to hear all about it!
Tuesday interval training is in full swing, come join us. Next Saturday, we meet at High Park at 8am, see the sidebar for training distances. A few of us are meeting at 7am, due to busy personal schedules that day, feel free to join us.
See you next week!
